Castle Drogo

We had a really lovely day out yesterday visiting Castle Drogo with a local Home-Ed group. It was the first time that we had met up with the group, and it was really nice meeting new faces as well as seeing some "old" ones too.

We had a nice picnic before we went for a stroll around the house. Some of the adults then sat and chatted, whilst the kids went off exploring. All very pleasurable.

I was pleased that our "preparation" work for the visit hadn't been wasted, as the children had managed to remember quite a lot of what we had read about Castle Drogo beforehand. So nice to think they do actually listen!

Today we have just been plain lazy and enjoyed the glorious sunshine. We were going to go to a festival that was being held locally, but we never seemed to get around to it.
