Ideas for Updates

Hello Friends!
It's been a rainy day here in NC and we needed it.
It's starting to look like a jungle out there now.
I'm always have decorating ideas pop up in my head.
Since my hubby is a Marine it is not worth it to
put too much into our home. It is always only a
matter of time before the next moving day comes.
For us it may be next summer or the one after.
We don't know anything at this point.
Join for me for my wish list of home decor' ideas.
We had our home built 4 years ago and had
upgrades put into the kitchen while it was being built.
Anyone who has done this process before knows that
almost nothing comes upgraded in a new home.
We extended the cherry hardwoods, added recess lighting
and hanging pendants, stainless appliances and painted.
We added the granite countertops a few months later.
The kitchen is pretty spacious and I do enjoy that.
What I would do is paint out the cabinets and add trim.
Who knows what color. Maybe a warm brown or rich black.
At this point they will have to stay as is.
Here is the adjoining family room and I would
extend the hardwoods into this room as well.
In the formal dining room I would add white
decorative wainscoting to the bottom and paint.
For added curb appeal I would have a brick paver
sidewalk leading to the front steps. I love that look!
We added the red round pathway from Lowes.
I would also add more custom landscaping.
On the covered back deck I would have this made
into an enclosed room. It would have glass walls
and a ceiling fan. Our neighbors are having it
done now and it looks very nice.
In the master bathroom I would tile the floor.
It comes standard now for the newer homes
being built in our neighborhood. Go figure.
I would also change the countertops to granite.
With all that said I do love our home as is!
I'm very grateful to live here and take care of it.
This is just a fun what if dream of mine. :)
How about you? Do you ever think of more updates?
Mr Chestnut is napping with all of this rainy weather.
He says sweet dreams to you too.
Have a wonderful week!
