Labor Day weekend involved a whole lot of labor actually! We knocked out some small nursery to-do's, returned a bunch of stuff, moved our washer & dryer around in the laundry room AND managed to sneak in 2 great dinners in Chapel Hill, a flea market trip and some pool time. All in all, a fabulous weekend I must say. Oh, and I transformed a lampshade that I'm hoping to put up in a bedroom as a makeshift ceiling light. Before & after to come on that.
Here's an update on where I am with the nursery project:--hang abacus & Jonathan Adler giraffe sconces on changing table wall
DONE! Finally got an electrician over to the house to hard-wire them in. I couldn't be happier with how this wall looks. We still need to put the sconces on a dimmer but that's simple now.
The sconces are a little hard to get pictures of. Maybe I should have turned them off?
DONE!! Finished product here.
--purchase IKEA 1x5 Expedit
This got scraped in exchange for a custom built bench. After losing out on this bench, I decided to try a new vendor for a custom option to replicate this look. It should be here this week. I will for sure update on how it turned out (good or bad!)
DONE! Closet is even semi-organized. All that's left is to put up the size dividers coming this week and I'll post a photo.
DONE! I ended up going with this rug and I love it. It's perfect and not overly safari-ish as I had feared at all.
DONE! At least for now. Future post on this coming.
DONE! Love it but because I can't leave well enough alone, I'm considering trimming out the top and bottom of the shade with white grosgrain ribbon. Currently it looks like this:
DONE! Actually came out looking really cute. I will make sure to include pics in the post about organizing the changing table.
DONE! Decided I wanted one and DIY'ed up a version. See it here.
STILL NEED TO:
--finish crib bumper
--purchase storage boxes for closet
--style bookshelves
--wash newborn onsies
OMG could that really be it? I'm 35 weeks this week so I guess a smaller list is a good thing!
