So yesterday I shared my latest project - the transformation of our sitting room into a dreamy master closet/dressing room. I dug through my inspiration folder and pulled the following images (apologies but I have absolutely no idea where I got any of these images. I've had some saved for years!) Each has something I love and want to incorporate into our dressing room.
My big challenge in creating this room is trying to achieve a balance between a very feminine but beautiful dressing room and one that Mr. H+F will also approve of.
I would love nothing more than a room like this.
However there are multiple things in this room that would not fly with him, including leopard print lucite stools and beribboned poodles. Thankfully, there are a few things about this image that we absolutely agree on - a chandelier and a fabulous tufted ottoman.
Certainly a proper dressing room needs a full length mirror. My plan for dealing with those absurd Fraggle Rock doors includes leaning a full length mirror like this in front of one of them. Totally functional and easy to move if we need to access the storage space behind the door.
And look...another ottoman.
I really like the vanity area that's been created in this little nook using a mirror and the top of those built in drawers - a place to display a few framed photos or some of my chunkier jewelry that's as lovely to look at as it is to wear.
And yup...another ottoman.
I love the look of all those built-ins above but that is just not in the budget for our room. I pulled the image below because I find myself struggling with how to achieve a serene and clean space in a room where all our clothes and shoes are on display. I really like the eclectic look here and you know I love otomi! And a chevron rug...hmmm....
More proof that things can still look organized and pleasant without being shut away behind doors. Using all the same hanger and arranging by color seems to go far toward that end.
