Modern Toys: Kay Bojesen's Wood Animals

Whenever I see a beautifully styled space it is inevitably the small touches that catch my attention and capture my heart.  Such is the case with the wooden toys of Kay Bojesen.  Bojesen was a Danish designer who began his professional life as a silversmith but later decided to turn his design talents to practical and fun toys after a search for toys for his son left him disappointed.  His most famous piece, the monkey is also my favorite but his other adorable animals aren't far behind. 

I would be happy with any one of them perched on a bookshelf!  All are available via Nova68.  Or if you'd prefer the real deal vintage, check eBay where there always seem to be a few in various conditions.
