Living Room Drapes

Hello Everyone!
Happy 2010!
I hope your new year celebration was wonderful.
I have been in a cleaning and nesting mode for months now.
I can't seem to stop. Is anyone else doing this at home lately?
Is it because I'm blogging now? It's been fun that's for sure.
Join me and I will show you our newest draperies.
Here is the final view of the finished formal living room.
It's the first room you see to the left as you enter our home.
The before scarf thingy.
I've had this scarf for about ten years
in every home we have lived in.
It was time to let it go to say the least.
The striped drapes you see here were returned.
Nothing like some trial and error. After! The drapes are actually from the front two windows.
I hung a new rod and placed it up to the height of the ceiling.
I adore the new height it seems to give to the room!
Thank you for your inspiration Kathy. Blog friends are the best.

When they were on the other side of the room they puddled. The pillows are from Kirklands and the chair is from Sams Club. The asian chests that are 32 years old. I like a mix of styles. An accent table holds a vase with ting and a box. The leather sofa is from Ashley. Accent lamps are from JCPenney.
A grouping of pillows from Kirklands.
I have a definite weakness for decorative pillows.
My hubby loves them all too. You know I'm kidding...:)
Here is the culprit himself. Mr Chestnut.
He is wondering where his puddled drapes went.
The new drapes shown here are from BB& Beyond.
They have a flowered pattern and are shorter than the others.
The style and look are very similiar to what was already here.
The fleur de lis tassel was hand made.
You can also see the pattern on the drapes close up.
The french doors leading out to the family room.
Have a wonderful week!
