The Modern in Chapel Hill

If I have an obsession with fabric and milk glass and bright painted furniture, than Mr. H&F has a similar obsession with real estate. Yes, as in houses. He is perpetually looking at houses, even though we have a perfectly wonderful house that we won't outgrow unless we become The Duggars.

But he's not into houses like ours. No, his Dwell Magazine subscribing self is into modern architecture. It's funny how our tastes evolve. If you'd asked either one of us when we bought our home years ago, I'm fairly certain the word "modern" wouldn't have come up on the list of desirable characteristics. Heck we were just psyched we could actually afford a house! But now that we've had some time to acclimate to what's out there, he's 100% gung ho for something like this.

Frankly I really can't say that I blame him. I recognize it's not everyone's cup of tea but this house is AMAZING. It was originally listed months back for $1.5 million. But then the bottom feel out of the economy and Mr. H&F has steadily stalked it to it's current asking price of $799K. Still waaaay more than we can afford. But it's on a fire sale it seems. And in a great location in Chapel Hill. And it has an outdoor shower. And concrete floors perfect for high traffic living. But it's still way more than we can afford.

*Sigh* Someone buy it and invite us over please?
