Robin's Egg Blue I Love You

I stumbled across this image in my inspiration file (sorry, I can't remember where I got it!) and it got me thinking about robin's egg blue and how much I love it. Suddenly it's all I can think about! I am crazy about how it looks paired with whites and brass accents.

But where to put it? Our upstairs hall bath is still builder grade, boring cream. It gets nice light and this color would look amazing in there. I've been wanting to paint the cabinets so maybe this is just the jump start I need for that project?

It would also look fantastic on this piece which is currently sitting in our living room waiting on it's next life (with those brass handles and corner pieces! OMG!). But I'm holding off on painting it until I have a full design plan for where it's going to go and what the rest of the room will look like (which could be a while...just sayin')

It does appear to be a tricky color to get just right though. It's equal parts blue and green. Too much blue and it starts to look more Tiffany blue. Too much green and it becomes minty. This is a great post on the quest for the perfect color. Other contenders I found include Martha Stewart - Robin's Egg Blue, Pratt and Lambert - Skylit (as seen on the ceiling here), Benjamin Moore - Palladian Blue (in this room), Bird's Egg (on the walls here) or Wyeth Blue (in this room).

One more contender via Red Bird Cabin - Benjamin Moore Antiguan Sky which she actually matched to a real robin's egg. How pretty is this image?

I'm off to ponder this color some more and figure out where I can get it into my life...
