What I did this weekend

We are hosting Christmas this year for the first time. Who knew...all you have to do is push out a baby and everyone comes to you for the holidays. Pretty fantastic. So I've been working on lots of last minute "make the house festive" projects as well as some of the projects that I seem to always have going.

To add a little holiday cheer to the bedroom doors upstairs, I used $2 wreaths from Michael + some red grosgrain ribbon to make these.

Cut lengths of ribbon, tie knots around the wreath's branches, fashion yourself a little bow and call it a day.

The pantry makeover project is looking AMAZING. Seriously, you're not even ready for this before & after. Actually I'm the one that's not ready...still working on a few things. :) This weekend I used chalkboard spray paint (addictive, I'm warning you) to turn my IKEA Fira boxes (sadly discontinued) into this.

The 4 dining chairs I scored on Craig's List a while back have been sitting in my dining room waiting on some attention. I finally started on them this weekend and let's just say, now I know why upholsterers charge so much. After a million staples and about that many blisters, I've managed to get one chair down to this. And there are 4 chairs. And I'm not exactly sure what to do now that I've essentially destroyed the chair. But I will persist!

Lastly, I made this cute little tree skirt for a mini wire tree I have in one of our guest bedrooms.

It turned out a bit more Valentines-y than I was envisioning but it was fun so I'm ok with it. I'll post a little tutorial later but right now I'm off to the Apple store. My Mac is sick. I can't open Photoshop. This will not do. Let's hope she's ok.
