I'm always fascinated by how different people solve common problems. For example - how do you keep the numerous paint colors used throughout a home organized? Years after you've painted your living room and need to come back and do some touching up, are you faced with this scene?
Here's my own personal little trick for keeping each room's color straight. After I finish painting a room, I take a piece of painter's tape and label it with the brand and color I just painted. I stick it onto the back of one of the room's light switch covers and then screw it back into the wall. Easy peasy and I always know where to find it.
Here's some interesting ideas on how to tackle this issue.
From a recent issue of Martha Stewart Living - stirrer sticks painted with each rooms color, labeled and strung together.
Here's another, slightly more compact version found via Pinterest. Wood chips from a craft store. I love that you can just throw this in your purse and reference it when you're out shopping for fabric, etc.
What's your trick for keeping paint swatches and chips straight?
