Saturday afternoon at Furbish Studio

I visited Jamie at Furbish Studio this Saturday to look at fabric and generally bask in some deliciousness (gratuitous MLB/Million Dollar Decorators reference). Whenever I'm missing Boston and Newbury Street and all its great boutique shopping I go to Furbish and then I'm not so sad. I feel fortunate to live close to such an inspiring place. I just wish I could clone Jamie and Furbish about 30 times over. Raleigh would be better for it.

The fabric nook is my happy place.

The last missing piece to my dressing room - the ottoman - is underway now that I've picked a fabric -this crazy, awesome jewel tone blue velvet.

It will be tufted to within an inch of its life into this creature. And then I will sit on it and luxuriously put my socks on.

I'm also in the process of figuring out what to do about our coffee table/baby impaler in the family room. Yes, I think I'm making the move to an ottoman in there too. More to come on that in a future post but I think I'm settled on this trellis print from Trina Turk Outdoor in watermelon.

But I'm liking the way the coral color works with blue. I think it will play nice with my chevron curtains. Plus I'm secretly obsessed with this Thibaut Jakarta fabric for a pillow or 2 and I like how it looks with the Trina Turk fabric.

Selections made, I had fun just flipping through all the other stuff in there and imagining how they would look in rooms that I don't actually have.

Then I found this book and drooled for a bit. It was the first time I'd actually touched a lot of her fabric and yes, I can confirm it feels as expensive as it is.

I picked up these 2 napkins on clearance for under $8 each. They'll make great pillows somewhere someday :)

Those silk flamestitch pillows are RIDICULOUS. They are so soft and luxe.

See? Don't you feel better after that? I know I do.

Also, Jamie filled me in on some news she'll be sharing soon about the Furbish empire and it is major.
