Look what I stumbled upon while perusing eBay this weekend. An upholstered headboard in everyone's favorite - Chiang Mai Dragon in the aqua colorway. You know I am a fan. And I've recently been deliberating using it on a dining room chair project I still need to blog about.
I admire this person's commitment to the pattern and willingness to just "go for it". I mean, let's be honest...that's a lot of dragon. But it would definitely be a showpiece in a bedroom. The kind of thing you'd have to design the whole rest of the room around. I love the pagoda-like silhouette they chose. A subtle nod to the Asian imagery within the pattern.
And I LOVE the chartreuse piping to highlight the shape even more. Love me some piping.
At $2,000, it is definitely not cheap. It is a king sized bed though and the yardage of fabric alone would probably account for at least 1/2 that cost.
What do you think? Too much of a good thing? Or just right? I'm undecided. Something tells me if it were selling for like $700 I could be "decided" real quick :)
