Art for Boys! Trains

Today I am FINALLY launching my fourth installment in my Art for Boys series over on Etsy - TRAINS!!  I feel like I've been working on these forever (6 months to be exact!) but I'm really happy with how they turned out.  As with all my art, my goal is to create something that both kids AND parents will like.

There are 11 different illustrations in the series all inspired by vintage trains.  They are sized to fit into a standard 8"x10" frame.  I love the way they look paired with a very modern and clean frame like the IKEA Ribba.  Each train is available for individual purchase for $11 or in a set of 3, 4, 6 or 8.

I know lots of little boys who are totally crazy for trains so I hope these will bring just the right finishing touch to their rooms!

Restoration Hardware really should put me on the payroll

Look familiar?  While perusing the latest Restoration Hardware Baby & Child catalog, I came across this newest offering - Vintage Prop Plane Art.

Don't worry - I don't ACTUALLY believe that the buyers are Restoration Hardware are reading MY blog for ideas to rip off.  BUT! Lest anyone say I don't have my finger on the pulse of what looks great in a child's room!  I've had my own vintage bomber plane prints available in my Etsy shop since May.

Dare I say, I like my prints better? :)  I'm only slightly biased of course.  Not to mention Restoration is selling their prints for $69 EACH!! EACH PEOPLE!!! Versus $15 per print for my planes.  Granted, their prints come with a frame but, frankly, those don't look like $54 frames to me.  Just sayin'...

IN PROGRESS: Art for Boys - Vintage Train edition

I was hoping to have the whole series done this week but they are taking sooooo long because I'm all hung up on keeping the detail crisp and really vintage-y looking. What do you think? There will be 12-15 trains in the final series.

Art for Boys! Bug Lovers

Today I'm launching my third installment in my Art for Boys series over on Etsy - some vintage inspired bug illustrations for the bug lovin' little man in your life. (click here for the baseball series and here for the planes series)

I hope all the full color detail on these creepy crawlies is exactly what the sweet little junior etymologists out there want for their walls. All 7 are available as individual prints or in a series of 4 or 6.

Art for Boys! Baseball Pitches Series

I'm super excited about the newest series I just created and uploaded to my Etsy shop! Continuing on my quest to offer cute, boy-appropriate art, this latest series is a set of 9 vintage looking black & white photos shot by your's truly of the various baseball pitch hand positions.

I love the way the texture of the old baseball comes through in these images and I think they would look great framed up in a series in a tiny little baseball fan's room!

Of course each pitch can be purchased individually or in a series of 3, 6 or 9. Hope you like them as much as I do! And of course, I'm offering you guys 15% off all orders to the Etsy shop through the end of the month. Just use coupon code HONEYANDFITZ15 when you checkout to get your discount.

Art for Boys! Vintage Airplane Illustrations

There is no shortage of cute art on Etsy, that's for sure. But as a mom to a baby boy I can attest to just how hard it is to find cute non-girly art to decorate their rooms. Rather than just hem and haw about the issue, I've decided to do something about it and will now be offering boy-appropriate art in my Etsy shop.

My first collection is inspired by an image I have always loved - Jennifer Chused's son's room as originally featured in Domino Magazine.

{via Domino Magazine}

Doesn't that wall look fantastic? I LOVE it. I've designed 18 different WWI and WWII propeller and jet engine fighter planes reminiscent of those used in the Domino image. All are sized to perfectly fit a standard $9.99 IKEA Ribba frame.

Choose just a couple or frame a series of 6, 9 or 12 for maximum impact.

And because my readers are THE BEST, I am offering 15% off all orders placed between now and June 1st. Just use the code HONEYANDFITZ15 to get your discount. Now go forth and decorate!
