Jennifer Lopez for Kohl's Ocean Drive Bedding

Happy Friday!!  Just wanted to share a quick find with you today.  I was wandering through the Kohl's bedding department recently and came across the Jennifer Lopez collection of bedding.  Nothing all that stellar to speak of but I did find a little gem in the Ocean Drive set.

I once read that the closer something will be to your body, the more money you should spend on it.  In bedding terms that means spending on sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers but saving on decorative bolsters, shams, etc.  {Translation:  Please don't buy the polyester duvet cover.}

BUT look how cute the decorative euro shams and pillows are for this set!  Right?!  And for $29.99 a piece!

I'm debating getting a couple of this decorative pillow and using them on our sectional.  Who says they have to be bedroom pillows?  I'll need to hack them a bit so I can put a down insert in.  Will report back if I do that!

Hammocks & High Tea

I'm currently obsessed with everything on Hammocks & High Tea's website.  Their specialty is eco-friendly textiles with a global perspective.  I love how fresh and modern everything is and #7 on this list - a reversible oyster metallic leather clutch with chevron lining - is so pretty I can't stop thinking about it!!

The Best of Etsy: The Funky Boutique

In case you missed my announcement, all this week I'll be featuring my favorite Etsy shops. From baby gear to jewelry, pillows to art, I'm sharing all the shops I've been "favorite-ing" for over a year. I hope throughout the course of the week you discover a few new gems and share a few also!

 

Just looking through this shop's listings makes me happy.  I love how happy and sweet these ruffly beauties are.  Just one tucked in amongst a bunch of different pillows on a couch would be great.  

I'd love them in a little girl's room as well.  And they come in every color imaginable so you're sure to find just the right shade to coordinate with your room.  Bonus:  They're just "up the road" from me in Boone, NC!

As an aside, I really enjoy seeing the transformation of the couch they're using to merchandise their pillows.  See it there in the bottom left photo in all its retro glory?  A white painted frame, nail head trim and some neutral, creamy fabric on the reincarnated version really lets the pillows shine.

There are tons of pillows on Etsy but this shop shot to the top of my favorite list when I saw those gorgeous silk ikat pillows à la these.  They're very reasonably priced for silk pillows and shipping is only $6.00 even though these beauties are coming all the way from Israel!  The embossed velvet striped ones are lovely as well.  I for one will be keeping an eye on LaJoyade...I think there are lots more pretty things to come from this shop.

Dressing like my couch

Danika did a post a while back on taking design inspiration from your jewelry collection. So maybe it's not so crazy that I would want to put the same stuff on my body as I put on my couch? (I promise I won't start sporting ostrich leather hot pants or anything)

Cute chevron pillow from Lands' End

My friend Stacy sent me an email last week about these pillows and I thought they were too cute not to share. Just the graphic punch you need to jazz up a sofa, chair or bed. I am loving the plum color.



From Lands' End! Can you believe it? Definitely not the first place I think of for chic throw pillows. And the best part...they're only $24.99!

Imperial Trellis goes outdoors

Just in time for naps on the porch season, outdoor pillows in the pattern we all love to hate (or love to love depending on who you are).


They only seem to have this green/brown combo online but I saw a hot navy & white combo at my local Target so be sure to check there if you prefer that color. $19 for two pillows. I love you Target!

NYIGF 2011: Ox Bow Decor

There are a lot of pillows at the NYIGF but one booth that made me stop for a closer look was Ox Bow Decor.  I really loved their pillows printed with architectural facades. All of their products are made in Massachusetts and they couldn't have been nicer which is always important.  Definitely check them out.

NYIGF 2011: Jonathan Adler

Since the Jonathan Adler booth is the first one I visit at the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF), I always like to start with the creative, colorful, and cheeky designer. Each year, I wonder what he will come up with next and of course he never disappoints.  I especially love table and pillow designs but the cutest piece has to be the mustache topped cork screw.  Very cheeky indeed!
