When flavours collide

Have you ever roasted strawberries before? How about putting them between two slices of fresh bread with some brie and dark chocolate? Admittedly, I was a bit reluctant, but I have to say, I totally fancy the pants off this sandwich.  It’s like a French toast meets grilled cheese sandwich in the most mind blowing way. Jessica, you are a genius! (Full recipe here).

Loves, would you try it? What’s the most unexpected flavour combination you ever tasted? xo

Supermoon Saturday

Crikey, fancy experiencing something out of this world beautiful this weekend? Well, tomorrow on May 5th there will be an extraordinary event of supermoon occurrence. It’s a phenomenon that doesn’t happen often and it occurs when a full moon is at its perigee - its closest point to the Earth on its elliptical patch. Tomorrow, exactly at 11:35pm ET the moon will reach that special peak point and then we can see it all big, bright and even more breathtaking!

So if you have a chance - grab a blanket, some chilled wine, your favourite cheese and enjoy the evening under the stars and the glowing moon.  I know, I will! See you there:)

Totally romantic, don't you think? xo

P.S: You can read more about it here.
P.P.S: Also, this stunning midsummer night in Poland and the magical Aurora Borealis!

Fresh Take On Spring Makeup

Must be the spring in the air because recently I find myself craving new makeup tricks (but as you all know by now I am totally hopeless in that department). Nothing drastic or unexpected, just want to perfect that fresh natural summer look - exactly the one Chelsa is wearing in that photo. For me, there is nothing sexier than healthy/glowing skin, rosy cheeks, bit of lipstick and long foxy lashes. I fell in love with that lipstick colour so much that I even got one for myself this morning - it's in satin light rosewood shade (different from my usual red but perfect with flowy dresses for summer days).

Lovelies, doesn’t she look beautiful? Do you use makeup daily or like me just a bit of lipstick or a blush? What’s your morning makeup routine? Any tips you’d like to share? xo

P.S: If you fancy trying this look here is what you need!
P.P.S: Also, here are a few tricks to avoid lipstick faux pas.

Baked Asparagus Fries (oh yea, baby)

Last October my life got super scrumptious with the baked avocado fries, remember them? Since that day I've been on a hunt to try the whole baking ordeal on another of my favourites and here is it: baked take on asparagus. The even cooler part is that Jenny whipped up three mouth-watering sauces to complement the dish. (The roasted garlic and lemon aioli totally tickles my fancy).

Loves, would you try this take on asparagus? (Full recipe here).

P.S: Also, thank you for all the wonderful anniversary wishes. Balazs and I are totally chuffed to have such great people around us. Means the world! xo
P.P.S: And here is another great avocado and asparagus twist.

Asparagus Season

I've been patiently waiting for the asparagus season to begin and guess what, it's finally here! I love the crunchy texture of it and mixed with a bit of garlic butter, it can turn around even the gloomiest of days.

So, the other week, Leela came out with a spring sandwich recipe with asparagus and boiled eggs that I can't wait to try out. It also has a bit of French mustard (remember, we always say that everything tastes so much better with mustard?) and pickled onion. Doesn't that sound delicious and super easy? As my mom would say: a combination like that will put spring right back in your step! (Here is the full recipe).

Loves, do you like asparagus? What's your favourite take on this green veggie? (I’d love to try your favourite recipes). xo

P.P.S: And poached egg on a buttered toast with fresh herbs. Yum!

British Lavender Fields

Let's end this rainy Thursday on a dreamy note with blooming lavender fields in Sussex, Great Britain. Looking at those photographs, I can almost smell the calming scent of the lavender mixed with fresh spring air, can't you? Just imagine taking an afternoon stroll across the never-ending fields of goodness - totally relaxing! Are you in? xo

P.S: Also, cherry blossom avenue in Germany and yellow fields in Bulgaria.

Travel Fantasy: The Beetlebung Farm

How fun would it be to enjoy a spring or summer weekend at the Beetlebung Farm on Martha's Vineyard? Gabriela did just that last summer. She spent her days harvesting fresh products in the morning sun, weeding, mingling with the locals and at night dining in the most magical greenhouse there is. Her photographs give such a cool vibe of the modern day farming life and a proper tickle to try it yourself. I’m sold and totally craving a slice of the nature:) How about you, loves? xo

P.S: Remember this cool NYC rooftop farm?
P.P.S: And this charming backyard glasshouse in New Zealand.

New Twist On The Messy Bun

One of my all time favourite hairdos is a messy bun (Yours?). It's easy and it makes me feel a tiny bit French each time I wear it. Last night, I got super excited when I spotted this adorable twist on the classic bun using a yarn. Elsie says that you can totally use a lace or any type of cute fabric you have. A perfect pop of colour to your spring look! Lovelies, would you try it? xo

P.S: More adorable dos here.
P.P.S: A very 'French' French twist!

Fancy A Camping Trip?

Camping just got so much snazzier with those bubble tents, don’t you think? Dumas is a French designer who created this gem-of-a-tent, so people don’t have to miss out on all the awesome things you can do while camping but still be super comfortable. He wants everyone to enjoy nights under the stars, early sunrise walks and romantic sunsets. Isn’t that sweet? Sign me up! Would you go camping in a bubble like that? ox

Fun fact: If you are planning a trip to France this summer, you can rent one of those tents. They are called bed and breakfast bubbletree huts:)

P.S: Also, remember this?

Hair: Spring Blooming

Messy braids and spring flowers make a totally romantic pairing, don't you think? Each time I see a girl wearing a tiny flower with her French bun I literally gasp! So, there is no surprise that I’m in love with this do. It has that wonderful 70s vibe and besides looking swoon-worthy for a weekend picnic-party in a park, it would also be perfect for an outdoor wedding.

Lovelies, will you be wearing flowers in your hair this spring? xo

P.S: Get twisted!

Off-Season Holiday

Brittany and her husband Paul love to travel but like most of us, they're not too keen on the huge costs! So, they decided to find the cheapest way to feed their travel-bug. Their solution - travel off-peak time! Brilliant, don’t you think?

They are the first ones to admit that the cold weather can get to you at times, but that is exactly why they made a list full of suggestions that will make even the coldest trips more enjoyable and less painful.

As for me, I think that is a great compromise for those who love to explore new cities (like Balazs and I)  and are willing to compromise on a few little things, like the cold. (And to be honest most cities are equally or even more beautiful in the snow or rain).

Here are three of Brittany's tips that I bookmarked for myself. They will make the travelling in cold worth-while:

* as travelling in the cooler weather requires a bit more preparation (you don’t want to get lost in the cold street looking for something for hours), you should always make an itinerary and try to plan things close together, so you are outside as little as possible.

* cafés are always your friend. You should map out a few that you like and always keep them in mind for a quick stop to warm up, relax and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.

* warm clothes, hand-warmers and tons of layering is a must to spend whole days exploring the new city. In this case it's all about staying warm and not necessarily looking stylish :)

Darlings, would you ever travel in the off-peak season? Did you? Any of you are planning a March trip? What do you think about Brittany's tips? Do you have any that you would like to add to the list?

Flower Classes

Lovelies, have you ever considered taking a floral design class? After spotting this article about the Little Flower School in this month's Martha Stewart Living I'd be totally up for the challenge especially during early spring. I think, it could be fun to get to know all the different little tips on flower combinations and how to create a beautiful arrangement without it looking too put together. (Just a thought: a class like this would make a great bridal shower idea, don't you think?). What's your favourite flower? xo

P.S: Parisian flower market and two of my favourite flowers: ranunculus and peonies.
P.P.S: An awesome GIVEAWAY Wednesday is coming up!

Rainbow Watching

Lovelies, did you know that every person sees their own and totally personal rainbow? So special, don’t you think? Till this day my grandpa loves telling me about those cool little gems each time I call him up for a quick chat. Supposedly when you look at a rainbow, you actually see the light bounced off a certain raindrop, that is why when the person next to you looks at the same one they probably see it from a totally different light reflection angle. Oh boy, after this I can’t wait for spring rain-showers and rainbow watching!

When was the last time you saw one? Are you ready for spring? xo

P.S: This cool guy made his own rainbow machine!
P.P.S: Also, do you remember this fantastic rainbow parade?
